SMS & Opt-In Policy

BookedBack is accepting business applications. Automated texting is not live. A missed call alone does not authorize an automated text.

Program and current status

BookedBack is developing missed-call follow-up for local trades in Canada. Messages relate to the caller’s own service enquiry. This is a conversational customer-care program, not a marketing campaign.

Outbound texting remains disabled while we finalize the consent flow, obtain carrier verification and complete live testing. Applying for a business account does not activate messaging or enroll that business’s callers in SMS.

Consent before texting

Calling a business, an unanswered call, or a forwarding record alone is not SMS consent. A caller must affirmatively opt in through an accepted, documented method before the first outbound text.

For our Canadian toll-free program, the planned flow requires an initial opt-in followed by a confirmation text. Conversational messages may begin only after an affirmative confirmation reply. If the caller does not provide the initial opt-in, no text is sent. If they do not confirm, no further conversation or reminder is sent.

We are obtaining confirmation of the exact IVR/keypad wording and evidence requirements from our messaging provider. The final workflow will be implemented, tested and published before activation. We do not currently offer a live consumer opt-in form or keypad flow.

Before consent is collected, the program will identify the participating business, explain the purpose and message frequency, disclose possible message and data charges, provide STOP/HELP instructions and link to the applicable terms and privacy policy.

Message purpose and frequency

After the required consent and confirmation, messages are limited to the customer’s enquiry: the requested work, service area, preferred timing and follow-up by the business. Quotes and confirmed appointments remain the business’s responsibility.

Message frequency varies with the conversation. We do not send purchased-list campaigns or unrelated promotions. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Stopping messages

When messaging is live, reply STOP to withdraw consent. Opt-out is enforced before sends, including replies by the business. The following production template illustrates the opt-out confirmation for a fictional business:

“You're unsubscribed from Westmark Plumbing. You won't get more texts. Reply START to resume.”

English and French opt-out keywords are supported. Restarting messages remains subject to the applicable consent and confirmation requirements.

Getting help

Reply HELP to a service message for program information and opt-out instructions. For help with your service enquiry, contact the business you called.

Privacy and consent records

We do not sell or share mobile information, message content, or opt-in and consent data with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Service providers process information only as needed to operate the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Consent evidence must identify the business and caller, when and how they opted in, the disclosure they received and their confirmation. Opt-out records are retained to enforce the caller’s choice. We will not activate a consent flow until these records and send restrictions are implemented and tested.
