Privacy Policy

We do not sell phone numbers or message content, and we do not share them with third parties for marketing. BookedBack uses your information for one purpose: to answer the call you placed to a local business.

Who we are

BookedBack provides missed-call enquiry follow-up for trades businesses.

We provide a missed-call text-back service to local trades businesses. Those businesses are our customers. If you telephoned one of them, this policy explains what happens to your information.

What we collect

If you called a participating business and did not reach anyone, we process:

  • Your phone number, as provided by the telephone network when you placed the call.
  • Call metadata — the time of the call and whether it was answered.
  • The content of text messages exchanged between you and the business, including messages written by the automated assistant.
  • Details you choose to provide in those messages, such as the work you need done, your availability, or your address.

We do not collect this information from any other source. We do not buy lists, and we do not receive your number from data brokers or lead vendors.

How we use it

Solely to continue the conversation you started: to text you back on behalf of the business you called, understand what you need, and schedule the work. We also keep a record of consent and opt-out so we can honour your choices.

We never use your number for marketing, and we do not send you messages on behalf of any business you did not call.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Your consent to receive text messages is never shared with anyone for marketing.

No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

The business you called can see your conversation — that is the point of the service. Beyond that, we use a small number of service providers who process data strictly on our instructions:

  • Telnyx — Delivers the phone calls and text messages.
  • Anthropic — Powers the automated assistant that writes replies.
  • Supabase — Stores conversations, bookings, and account data.
  • Stripe — Processes business subscription payments.
  • Resend — Sends notification emails to business owners.
  • Sentry — Collects error diagnostics. Phone numbers and message bodies are stripped before transmission.
  • Vercel — Hosts the application.

We may also disclose information where required by law. Some of these providers process data outside Canada, including in the United States.

Website measurement

To learn whether people find and use this website, our public pages record a small number of counts in our own database: which public page was shown, a broad traffic-source category (search, social, another website, direct or within this site), clicks on a few main buttons, whether the sample board or sample conversation was used. These browser events contain fixed categories and no visitor identifier.

We do not use cookies, advertising tags or third-party analytics for this, and we do not store an IP address, visitor or device identifier, full web address, referring web address, search terms, email address or anything typed into a form or tool. Each browser measurement record is a fixed category; we do not join these records into individual browsing histories. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, these browser events are not recorded. Your IP address is used to limit abuse of the counting endpoint, as a one-way hashed key in a separate rate-limit record, never with the counts.

Separately, server-side milestones such as workspace creation and the first non-practice follow-up are associated with the workspace’s internal identifier. These operational records remain enabled when browser measurement is off. They do not copy enquiry contents, customer names or contact details into the counters.

How long we keep it

Conversation records are retained while the business remains our customer, so it can service its own jobs and honour your opt-out. Records of opt-out are kept indefinitely, because deleting them would risk texting you again. You can ask us to delete your conversation at any time.

Your choices

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts immediately. Reply HELP for help. See the SMS & Opt-In Policy for full detail.

Under Canadian privacy law you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact the business you called about information it holds.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to the business you contacted and to the BookedBack team, who operates the service. Error diagnostics are scrubbed of phone numbers and message content before they leave our systems.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
